Water is needed for everything. Human body has water, trees & Plants has water, dogs and cows has water. Every breath that we takes has water. Everything that we eat has water in the form of moisture, and it uses water to produce it.
5, 000 to 20,000 of water is required to produce 1kg of meat, whereas 500-4, 000 litres of water is required to produce 1 kg of .wheat. 1 bread (Roti) requires 50 litres of water. 1 mango requires 120 litres of water. 1 beer bottle requires 150 litres of water. 100 gms of chocolate requires 250 litres of water. 100 sheets of paper requires 1000 litres of water. 300 Litres of water is required to produce 1 KG of steel.
There is an estimated 12, 500 crore crore litres of water on Earth. Only 0.007 percent of water, 9 lac crore is available to fuel and feed its 6.8 billion people.
Governments in India assures to provide 700 litres of water, to every household, daily, for domestic usage. If they have to provide water for each of the 25 crore household in India, They require 17500 Crore Litres of water, everyday. This accounts for 6 lac crore litres of annual usable water reserve.
According to the Central Water Commission, annual water requirement of India is 3,000 billion cubic metres while it receives 4,000 billion cubic metres of rain every year on an average.
Only solution to the upcoming water scarcity is water management, in the form of water re-use.
